Sound is moving energy that travels as a pattern of changing pressure. Sound is not a thing it is a property of medium it travels through. sound is often described as vibrations. In this blog I'm going to be using soundwaves to describe sound.
Sound is difficult to visualise. This is why the diagram helps us see the size of the wave which shows us the volume of the sound it also lets us look into the frequency of the vibration which is the pitch of sound. he waveshape is also another key part to the diagram as this represents different instrument.

Compression and Rarefaction
As the source expands it pushes the surrounding air molecules away causing them to "bunch" together and the air pressure to increase.
As the source contracts the surrounding air molecules spreads out to fill the increasing space, causing a decrease in air pressure.
"This image represents the cycle"
Cycles
When a source has expanded and contracted once it is said to have cycled. This is a single vibration.
The performance was good what made it good was all the band worked very hard together rehearsed continuously giving each and everyone in the group feed back and everyone going back and doing the best to correct it. secondly it was having the confidence to perform with each other and everyone knowing what they where doing but also knowing what other band members cues and making sure it ran smoothly.
we did well as a band communicating with each-other and working on anything that was off with each-other, getting it right so the performance ran smoothly. secondly creating chemistry with each other with everyone smiling and enjoying performing not having the anxiety of messing up as it was the first performance for everyone.
Improvement that can be made for the next performance when it come to rehearsing is or people to pay attention to the rehearsal put you life and soul into it as music is therapy every song is a story that a person want to tell but can't tell. Making sure that everyone is ready and not to leave anyone behind when preforming as that when it causes issues in the band as someone is behind.
i think i projectiles my voice making it clearer for everyone to hear
and also dancing along with the song it not just for the bands sake but for the audience to be brought involved in the performance
i need to improve on in learning lyric so i don't need to look at the lyric while sining and hiding my face. sticking to subjects which we are doing
The pinna is located on the outside of the ear but it is important to have as it directs the sound to the corrects components in the ear. The pinna can also detect where a sound is coming from which is measured by frequency which depending on where the sound is located the frequency will very. It will collect sound energy from the surroundings which then will allow us to know where the sound is coming from.
The middle ear is a transducer. The middle ear is a air filled cavity which is connected to the ear drum. the sound waves hit the pinna which then travels through the middle ear vibrating the ear drum which in turn sets the ossicles in motion causing the stapes to move which effects the vestibular system which is also linked to your eyes.
Frequency analysis and the inner ear
The frequency depends on the path length on which the sound has come from and if anything is in the path of noise
In the video above we looked at the general practice of Health and Safety in professional setting and in our case it in the music industry
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Trips and fall. Working with electrical equipment means there is alot of wires about. To ensure that no accidents happen we move the wires to a safer location where no one will trip over, also signs can be put out to let you peers know there is a hazard and to take care when moving about the music room/studio.
Manual handling. When working in environment where a lot of the musical instruments are heavy which means this is something we use often to ensure no injury happens we follow the guild lines of how to move or how to help move equipment in a safely manner. such as if we are moving an amp on our own we would bend the knees but make sure to keep back straight and keep it close to the body to ensure equipment don't get broke and you don't sustain injury.
Fire Safety. Any place you go or work it good to know fire safety to also stay alert just incase of a fire and know the differences between the fire extinguishers and what fires they are used to put out. such as for an electrical fire we would use co2 (carbon dioxide). where as if we used the water fire extinguisher it would only be used for combustable materials such as paper, wood and fabrics. It is also important to know where the fire exits are and where the fire assemblies points are and to exit the building leaving everything behind as materials we can replace but we cant replace YOU.
PPE. when working in the music industry it is important to where earplugs otherwise you can cause harm to your ears and when working in music you need you hearing so it is important to always keep on top of it.
Handling electrical equipment. when working with electrical equipment it is always important it is to check the equipment before use and if something is faulty repost it to your teachers/ lectures this enables safe learning place. all of the equipment in collage has been properly tested but it is still a good idea to check yourself to get a better understanding if when you do perform there is a faulty electrical equipment it can be rectified and made safe again. It is important to look after electrical equipment and to put it back nicely and neatly to help stop breakages and unsafe equipment.
