Unit 2: The Ear
The pinna is located on the outside of the ear but it is important to have as it directs the sound to the corrects components in the ear. The pinna can also detect where a sound is coming from which is measured by frequency which depending on where the sound is located the frequency will very. It will collect sound energy from the surroundings which then will allow us to know where the sound is coming from.
The middle ear is a transducer. The middle ear is a air filled cavity which is connected to the ear drum. the sound waves hit the pinna which then travels through the middle ear vibrating the ear drum which in turn sets the ossicles in motion causing the stapes to move which effects the vestibular system which is also linked to your eyes.
Frequency analysis and the inner earThe frequency depends on the path length on which the sound has come from and if anything is in the path of noise
