1. I am expecting my band member to respect myself and the other band members. My own behaviour matches up to this as my own expectations i have of others as you treat people how you would want to be treated and when it comes to being in a band it is important to everyone to feel comfortable as we all want to perform we all have the love for music and no one deserve to be mistreated doing something that they enjoy.
2. The non musical benefits of being in a band are working together which means the work load can equally be contributed to each other. This will help everyone reach there end goal of achieving goals. Everyone has something they are good at which can be vital to bands its makes everyone confident as everyone is together. It also creates another way of making new friends which creates chemistry on stage.
3. In my experience some of the effective strategies for making the most out of any rehearsal time is to communicate with the band members as you come in to discuss what need to be fixed and how we are going to improve the performance then to give everyone something to look at and improve. To stick to the subject in hand and not too let your mind wonder of topic otherwise this is letting the other band mates suffer as its not fair that they are want to perform but then someone not taking it serous which can have affects on the performs. Just working as a team is effective.
4.As a performing musician the responsibilities I have to the audience is to make my performance the best i can because it can be someone first or last performance. also have the chemistry on the stage so the audience can feel get the best out of watching us and ensuring everyone is safe at all times. JUST GIVE IT YOU ALL. as if you went to a performance and it was a flop you wont go back but if it good then the audience will more likely come back
Week 3 of performing a cover. The singletons did Don't stop believin' by journey on the 4th October. we had rehearsed two weeks for this performance. For the performance we had to learn the words off by heart to make sure we didn't need have the papers in front of us as this can be very off putting for the audience, This also included the whole band to be off the sheet music by the performance.
On the 4th October we performed don't stop believin' and we performed to the best of ur ability as we where all off the sheet music, which made our presence on stage a bit more enjoyable to the audience as we where able to get them involved. our stage presence was more open as we felt confident doing the song taking time to go over every pice which was not up to a good standard.
The result of this performance was the team work which each band member helped each other out to go over all the bits that needed to be straighten out like Nathaniel on keys singing with him to make sure he was on the right line of music like what me, Kyle was on. Bobby and Tom also where working together to make sure they where in time with each-other and at the end of going over it with each other made us memories it better.
what we can do differently next time is to do more on stage to make it more fun to watch as me and Kyle where just in one precision which is boring to watch. To make the performance at a better level is do more and to have a uniform to make it more our own and leave an impression to the audience something that will be spoken about.
Our band was doing Don't stop believing by the journey. We had two vocalists which was myself and kylie. we had two guitarists Tom and bobby and we had a pianist Nathaniel. We didn't have the performance until 04/10/2024. The video which I have linked at the top on this page was us rehearsing on the 27/09/2024. This gave us time to go over the performance and make it better.
WHAT?
Firstly we listened to the song as a group. We figured out who was doing what. While listening to the song Bobby said he would do the guitar solos in the song as he felt more confident at doing this knowing exactly when to come in and when to stop. Bobby practiced the solos. Nathanial and Tom both had the chord sheets which they both where going through. Me and Kylie had the lyrics we went through those as well. Once we all felt confident enough we started to rehearse together while also listening to the original song making sure we where on the right path while looking for markers to improve. It was a struggle at first to keep everyone on topic but once we went over it a few time it started to get easier. The results of this was good however it did take longer for some of the band to come off of the song sheets later which affected the stage presence.
SO WHAT?
These results imply we where able to work as a team to divide everyone into the key roles which showed we had a positive team dynamic. All of the band where working on skills which we already have but we were improving them. looking over the original also showed that we wanted compare and then perform what we had just listened to making the performance better quality to the original. putting our own mark on the song. I influenced the outcome by knowing the cues when to come in and having a performance mindset.
NOW WHAT?
For the next performance what I will do differently is prioritise memorising the lyrics better. Making sure that rehearsals are taken seriously by the band dedicating time for different band members to learn there chords/lyrics sheets given everyone a better chance at remembering cues and there part. I would also like a better stage presence with every performance to make it one not to be forgotten.
There are two types of microphone there is a dynamic microphone and there is condenser microphone
.
Dynamic microphone condenser microphone
1.Can handle loud sounds without 1. More high frequency details
distortion
2.Not good for distant or quiet 2. Good for distant or quite sources
sources
3. They have limited high frequency 3. more mounting options less visibility
details
4. limited mounted options 4. Needs phantom power to operate (48v)
When looking at microphones we must also look at the frequency response to see what range of sound can be reproduced by the microphone and also how sensitive the microphone is within the range.
Dynamic microphone frequency Condense microphone frequency
respondsresponds
dynamic microphone is better with vocals. condense microphone is better with we see this in diagram with line being more instruments we see this line being
