my ideas for the podcast topics
Week 2
The topic/topics you want to base your podcast on?
The topic I will be basing my podcast off of is microphone and the reasons for this is because as a vocalist i use microphones all the time so as its my job to sing is it is good to know what you are using so when it come to performing you can really give the audience a professional performer with top gear.
What research you could carry out on this topic?
The research I will be fortaking will be first when were microphones introduced how they have evolved with the times. and this will be searching online. This will be embed in this post. also what youtube videos and with this i will also embed the videos in this post and the research will all be from reliable sources.
What audio examples could you feature?
The audio examples i can use is i can go into the studio and record them myself. this will also be done with each different microphone. with the same line so the listener experience and hear the differences between each microphone and how we must use a different microphone compared to ones which are used for instruments.
How can you relate this to your own personal development as a musician?
I can relate this podcast to my own development as a musician as i use microphone for my own career and i have to be able to see if there is an issue with my instrument which is my voice and microphone. I have even bought myself as this shows I am professional.
This is an idea which i will be using in the podcast
and for my script i will be using this structure
topic one
what microphones are out there
- dynamic microphones
- condenser microphones
- ribbon microphones
- usb microphones
- Lavalier microphones
- Shotgun microphones
audio recording from three microphones with the same line
topic two
what microphone would be better for musician vocalist and how the microphone makes your work and if the microphone is not right then it will destroy your music such.
what i currently have as script i did some of research to make sure my podcast is a reliable source of information. this intices more people you want to listen fact and not be mislead.
i have also tried to include the listening by asking rhetorical question get you mind on set to listen
week 2 Thursday
What is research?
research is a task which is carried out to find answers to a question. to further knowledge.
This is the website I used
What is primary research?
This is research you find out yourself from a reliable resource.
What is secondary research?
secondary reserch is done with existing information you have. you can also use primary source if you have not searched it yourself as long as you put the link in
sustained research: To keep researching. To keep the podcast going
interpretation: showing our own understanding of a subject
the resource i have used to find out about the best microphone for a vocalist
this make the dynamic microphone better for a live gig as there more durable and it can pick up better direct sounds and this helps when your performing as there may be people that are not close to the stage and to hear they rely on the microphone input in the speaker

this is another bit of research i have used

Today have decided i will be rewriting the script as there is no structure to my script yes it had good point but i want to keep the listener interested facts then fun the back to fact and then fun it all to grab the listener's attention
Week 6
I am using logic pro for my ident listening to each audio to see what goes with each other and them also adding a sound of someone speaking through a microphone
and then putting them in the right places at first i made it to long but now i have made it just right i want to pull the listener in.
week 7
I personally use a se electronics v2 switch the reason why i pick this was firstly it was affordable a good starting point as these microphone this is better for vocal use. This microphone is also called a workhorse microphone.
in collage we use two different dynamic microphone the first one we use is a shure SM58 this is good for the widely regarded at standard grade for the industry. The durability of this microphone it is described as tank-like. Reduce background noise which in a collage it is needed as there is always something going on or noise. The second microphone that we use is called Shure SM57 is another great microphone for industrial use amplifiers to acoustic instruments.
my sources:
I used this website to get more information about one of the microphones which i use personally and i trust this website as this is where the microphone come from it is a reliable source.
This is the same website in which i found for another microphone which we use in college with the information this is reliable website
week 8
This is so far what i got on friday im going to go round collage and take picture of the different microphone.

week 9 through to 10
Over the last 2 weeks I have been working on the script. Then I worked on an ident in logic pro. Then i rehearsed at home for the script. then i recorded both pieces together making my final piece
lastly i had recorded all of them together I made a few adjustments so that my voice
could be heard properly and put the ident with so it made a nice podcast which can be
enjoyed.
my final piece of work which i have completed
my final podcast
My evaluation
What I think I did well with unit seven was the podcast. What I did first was to plan and pick a topic, I chose the microphone which from personal experience I use all the time as I am a vocalist which means it is my instrument. This saved time for me as I had a basic of knowledge of different microphone, I use microphones in college, I had personal experiences.
I wrote a script to help me. This was to help manage on what was told and not to be repeated. To engage the listener to have them listen and share with others what they may have learned to also give the audience a more of a personal experience.
Also, my last strength was the podcast itself recording it then applying them all together making the podcast to the best quality while also sticking with the script that I had written and picking out research I had done sticking to the time limit of the assignment.
What I would like to do better next time better keeping of a diary of each milestone which has been achieved. Then giving myself feedback of each week so I can improve for the next week to reach my goal on having a good podcast which is enjoyable for people to come back to when they want to listen to anything.
But I did enjoy this unit as I was able to use all the knowledge in what I had learned throughout.
